CONGRATULATIONS!!
to Joe
Brown and Shanny Lin, Border Swimming athletes who have been
selected to USA Swimming's 2010 Zone Select Camp. This
prestigious program identifies emerging young athletes each year and
offers them a unique motivational and educational experience. Joe
and Shanny will travel to Louisville, KY in May.
to Mauricio Gonzalez, who was named to USA Swimming's Diversity
Select Camp, to be held in late April in Colorado Springs.
Mauricio was one of only 16 boys and 16 girls chosen nationally.

- to Jorge Escarcega for his number ONE finish in the back
and 2nd place finish in the 50 free at the State TAPPS Division 1
Championship
- to Dustin Luse for his number ONE finish in the breast at the
State TAPPS Division 1 Championship
- to Javi Ochoa for his 2nd place finish in both the breast and
the 500 free at the State TAPPS Division 1 Championship
- to Ricky De Jesus for his 2nd place finish in the 200 IM and
3rd place finish in the back at the State TAPPS Division 1 Championship
- to Cathedral relays for a number ONE finish in the 400 free
relay and 2nd place in the 200 free relay at the TAPPS
Championship
It is our vision to become the means by which USA swimming
grows, develops, and is maintained in the Border Region for the benefit
of the athletes, parents, coaches, teams, and community.
It is our mission to promote, expand, and maintain
participation through organized publicity and communications programs,
improvements in the local swimming environment, and athlete sponsorship
at the national level; develop participants via clinics and workshops
for athletes, parents, coaches, teams, and officials; and assist and
guide local swimming committee members by performing the necessary
organizational management and administrative duties as required by USA
Swimming.

Swimming will provide a positive environment that encourages the
development of self-confidence, discipline, perseverance, and pride;
promote the qualities of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and personal
dedication; and provide quality programs for all age groups and ability
levels while encouraging participation of the family in all facets of
competitive swimming.
